Cheating On Your Dumbbells

By now most of you should know that just because the gyms are somewhat open it doesn’t mean that your options are limited.

We, for example, have an amazing program (which I will get into later) that you can substitute your dumbbells for the time being. And it is quite interesting that back in March – May how even when we were in complete lockdown we still found a way to stay fit and healthy. Most gyms adopted online virtual training (which gave birth to us) and it helped you, the public that you can still get an amazing workout while still in the comfort of your own home.

This blog we will explore three ways that you can stay fit while you are still at home. And considering that I am possibly one of the coldest countries and gets slammed with snow, sometimes you just can’t get out to the gym.

One way is calisthenics. This is one of the oldest, and still one of the most effective ways to stay fit and get you looking great. When the exercise was just taking off back in the early 1800’s calisthenics was a staple. But this form of training goes even further back than that. All the way back to ancient days. Calisthenics is the most simplest way of exercise. What is it, exactly? Well squats, push ups, chin ups, burpees, dips, handstands, L-sits, planks, hyperextensions, basically body weight exercises that you can do anywhere anytime.

Another one is “cardio”. Now I know what you’re thinking “cardio” is not considered resistance. But honestly people, you should all know me by now and know my feelings on that statement. “Cardio” is resistance training if it wasn’t then you wouldn’t be moving anywhere. The resistance is on the ground as you step and push off. Oh and by the way anyone that runs in the snow would now that I am 100% correct in this statement. I mean we can even take into the effect of the wind if you are running into a headwind. So, how can you not classify “Cardio” as resistance!

And the final one is a shameless plug. My virtual kettle bell classes. Ask anyone that has taken it or is in it right now. This is one of the most effective and cost efficient workouts that you’ll ever get. I combine aspects of “cardio” with resistance which gets you into tip top shape really fast and the lead up to the classes makes sure that you are preforming the movements safely so that you rock it in the virtual space that we provide.

Now, let’s just clear the cold winter air. I am not suggesting to completely get rid of the dumbbells or barbells, I still have a gym membership myself and there is a time and a place for them. I just wanted to let you guys know that there are always options other than dumbbells and barbells.
