Why Cheating Is Good For You
I know you must be thinking: “What is this guy ON!” “WHAT!?”
And just a disclaimer, I am not talking about cheating on your spouse or significant other, I am talking about your diet, and exercise.
With that cleared, you’re still probably thinking that I just had some ayahuasca or shroom or something. A personal trainer saying that cheating on your diet and exercise is good for me… WHAT!? Yes. It is good for you, it is good for your results, it is good for mental state, it is good for you PERIOD.
I will explain with a story about a professional bodybuilder (Ronnie Coleman) now for those who have not been exposed to the professional bodybuilding world, Ronnie Coleman was a professional bodybuilding golden era with what was known as the best bodybuilder that world had ever seen. He had one of the top physiques, but he could not break the top 3. He did everything right, from his diet, to his workouts, to his “supplements” but he still could not break that top 3. So, one evening he went to his friends (Kevin Leverone) hotel room and he asked him: “Kevin, what am I doing wrong?
I can’t seem to break the top 3! My nutrition is spot on, my workouts are intense, but I can’t get in the top 3” Kevin being a good friend invited him into his room and told him that in order for him (Ronnie) to win he has to listen to him (Kevin). Ronnie agreed. So, Kevin poured him some vodka, order some pizza, and they both got drunk. This was the night before a competition! Ronnie won his first competition and he ended up winning 8 Mr. Olympias after that. (This has been summed up from the movie Ronnie Coleman: The King (2018)).
Why? It’s simple. Ronnie was too clean, his body needed the sugar in order to shed the little extra water that was hiding the muscle (this is not to say that he didn’t have a great and huge body, he did) but he just needed to cheat a little bit in order for him to get to the finish line.
So, if this can work for a pro bodybuilder why shouldn’t it work for you. Cheating, done properly ahs amazing results. So, go ahead and have that cheesecake, or sweets, or a drink of alcohol. Just don’t overdue it.
